a pop band that love so much greatness of the british pop history. Love the la's, the real people, dodgy and of course the beatles and the kinks. the life has changed with the day i found the dodgy album. A new history started. Dodgy is still my favourite band because of the song and because the guys are so real and cool. I have seen them three times in toulouse (france) and the gigs are still in my mind.
It was a shock when i read in the nme that nigel has decided to quit the band. but i have still trust in the band and i was on of the mad investors that help the new line up to make this fourth album.
Of course i have all the cd and cds and the last nigel clark classic pop album.
I had booked the liverpool and manchester gig last year and unfortunatly i cannot go to liverpool this time.

i don't know if i can believe in other things with the band. Nothing has been said but i would like to go to music shop and find another collection of great new songs but it's a dream maybe.

every time i take my guitar i think about this classic songs and can't imagine that the band is not the most popular band in the world at this time. Never mind. This is our band.

Well Hello, what a lovely room to be in, that bird in the cage hasn't aged a bit.

Too much to say about Dodgy really, the real reason I ever started writing songs, got me through a lot of hard times and were the soundtrack to my youth. Now I get to do it all over again which I still find hard to believe and makes me really rather happy.

I'll be at the darlington gig, munching on my easter eggs in the front row- though if there is any moshing going on i'll have to just stand at the back and nod my head in time.

It's amazing Dodgy are back, and I think it's a perfect time for them, hopefully it they can pick up the success where they left off.

Hello to one and all. I first saw Dodgy back in Kingston many moons ago and went on to see them many many times in the London area. Favourite track is So Let Me Go Far, closely followed by Grassman.

Dodgy remind me of hot summer days, chilling out, great harmonies and fantastic gigs.

I love loads of other bands from that era - the Bluetones, The Real People, Rain, Space and I'm made up that Mark Morriss will be supporting at Shepherds Bush.

That's my intro done - over and out!

Dodgy always make me smile, whether playin' to ten or ten thousand. They're always at the forefront of innovation.
Hope to see them in Liverpool an London this time round (health permitting).

I've forgotten most of the words to their songs, but i'm never any good at that kind of thing anyway...

I've just read a couple of autobiographys by Ronnie Wood and Eric Clapton and that's put me in a rock 'n roll frame of mind so far this year ... off to see Neil Young soon...
....let the good times roll again!

I'm an american ex-mod (but still a scooterist) that learned about Dodgy from reviews of The Dodgy Club in Scootering magazine. Didn't hear them until the Smokin' Mojo Filters Come Together e.p. came out with Is It Me on it. I immediately went down to my record store and ordered The Dodgy Album and Homegrown and then Free Peace Sweet a short while later. Since then they've been my favorite band - it's just so amazing that there's not one bad song in their discography (even the Jam had Pop Art Poem to be embarrassed by).

cheers,
scott

Hello everyone,

It's fantastic to join "the Dodgy Board" again!

When I saw the music video of "water under the bridge " on tv first time back in 1993, I fell in love with the magical sound of the band instantly. I always wish I had known the band much earlier than that.

Well, the other bands I've been listening to for the last ten years are Teenage Fanclub, The Charlatans, The Bluetones, Weezer, etc. etc... Hey Gravity and Electric Soft Parade are now my favourite ones, too. And Nick Lowe was kinda "bridge" between Dodgy and me in some senses.

I'm afraid I can't come to any of the coming gigs, so look forward to reading comments on the big event from all of you here later this month.

May the MDV be with us.

Wow! what can i say! Dodgy were a major influence on my life between 93 and 97. Its hard to imagine that it was 15 years ago that I first got into them! I got into Dodgy big time through the Lovebirds single but like Scootergeek had heard about them through 'Scootering' magazine in the ealy 90's. I actually bought Easy way/ Bad day from the reviews but because of other stuff that I was buying at the time had forgotten all about it. With my then girlfriend the first time I saw Dodgy was on the 'Lovebirds' tour in Cardiff at the 'Loop' quickly followed by Bristol the next night at the Fleece and Firkin and i think Bath 'Moles' club ( with Feargal Sharkey in the audience watching the support band in his role as A+R man) and then at different times through the next couple of years at Worthing pavillion( where the band auographed mine and my ex's summer Fayre 12 inch singles) hereford, sheffield (with the 60ft dolls and Karl the drummer throwing an Ironing board on stage during Dodgy's set, the band were not pleased at all, but it was funny cos we knew the 'Dolls' because they were from Newport and I've known and followed Richard Parfitt the lead singer for years) London 'Garage'( The dodgy club, about 4 times.... I heard Grassman here for the first time and can honestly say that when Nigel went into the chorus with the gospel singers, shivers went down my spine....... amazing!) Worcester, Pheonix festival 94 ( both nights) Cardiff again and many more that I've more than likely forgotten about. If there was a gig within travelling distance then we were there!
I seem to remember that the drink of choice in the early days was 'Port and Lemonade' and many a round was bought for the boys at the time. There is a picture on one of the early Dodgy Fanclub magazines of the boys holding a box containing a bottle of Port that myself and my ex sent them for xmas.
I'm still a scooterist and have been for many a year and I'm still an old Mod at heart. I still listen to the same sort of music 60's Mod/ Soul/ Revival, though currently on my mp3 player, I'm listening to alot of stiff little fingers, ruts, sex pistols and currently 6 teenage fanclub albums along with the Who, Dodgy, airhead., the lemon trees, the damned, and many more diverse artists. We did have tickets for Bristol though as you know this got cancelled. I also have won tickets to see the boys in liverpool but in true Dodgy fashion my employer won't let me have the time off so I have had to pass the tickets back on to Dek the hijacker. My Wife and I are hopefully gonna get tickets for Birmingham so if you see someone with the biggest grin on their face in the universe then its me come over and introduce yourself!
Regards Tony

Shalom Dodgy Massive.
..err, what was I meant to be saying again??
oh yeah, first experienced the dodgy wall of sound when the 'word of mouth' tour dropped in at Redditch festival in rah dee rah. (Math once rated the gig as a 'laugh severe'). I dunno 'bout them but i had been chewin stock cubes so i thought they were the high numbers of the future - was amazing in short! so from Pj bells to live in leeds i went some gigs thru the ages, turning people onto dodgy along the way.
me? i garden.
my favourite track .. is impossible to answer. i'd like to pick a crap one to be ironic - but there aren't any!
how about 'stayin out for the summer fayre under the grateful brown moon'.
i'm well chuffed that Dodgy are Tegetha Again and wish them the best of luck for some knockout gigs this month!! x

What have you been up to for the last 10 years?
I was in prison for killing people who asked what I'd been up to.

Have you got your DodgY Reunion Tickets yet and for where?
Not yet. I'm waiting for my NACRO handouts.

What other bands float ya boat?
Then Jerico, Golden Earring.

What should DodgY have on their Rider, Horlicks or Ovaltine?
Gin, Co-Op 99 circular teabags and some of that Charlie - me Mam says all the Mecca Bingo crowd swear by it.

Hello everyone, just joined

Loving that Dodgy are back together for this re-union!
My absolute favourite band EVER and I just can't believe I'm going to the Shepherd's Bush gig this Friday Laughing

I used to run a Dodgy website back in the day, listing all the ways of dodgy, and had the link up on the old Dodgy.co.uk site
Glad to see there's this separate forum that's been set up. Not a big fan of MySpazz really Wink

Over the last few years I got into The Ordinary Boys, that 1st album is still wicked. The Rifles are good too. But still collecting too much old Soul, Disco, Funk and rare-groove records

greetings Im cpt.stax from milano (I), old enough to be nigel's father probably What a Face hehe kidding, but who f'in cares about age? drunken Im a big fan since the early singles and seen the band live a coupla times (both here in italy). Im guilty for the italian translation at the old dodgy.co.uk intro (you remember?) and Im also guilty cos I liked nigel-les dodgy mk II, even if it was a totally different band.

to be honest Im not much into reunion things etc, but dodgy are a rare exception, as they sound like they never broken up. I was really impressed by the m channel session last week and Im playing the brilliant new version on "uk rip" in my radio show at mod radio uk (captain's log )

the mdv is here and now. matt is my guru farao

cheers the cap
