I think Don't go back was actually gonna be a single at the time! I can't remember, but its the same version that appears on melodies haunt you. Homegrown is the original version with a different first verse. But if you listen to the version on Free Peace Sweet its the same version of the song but with a new first verse dubbed over the top of the original one. Why the boys did that I've no idea, but I've always prefered the original version to the one thats on FPS. Lets wait till we get there, I don't thtink has been available anywhere else other than on the Dodgy player on Myspace a couple of months ago. Im so glad you managed to pick up a copy of the Ep and at a really good price. What were the other 2 that were in the auction? Tony

Sorry! I'm being thick...DOH! The one is the black and white single but I can't make out the other one. Is it Dodgy? Tony

The third is the 12" promo of "Feathercuts and Monkeyboots" (one-sided).
It's the same version of the CDS (and completely different from the one on REAL ESTATE).

DON'T GO BACK TO THE BEATEN TRACK is different from the one on MELODIES HAUNT YOU E.P. In fact it's specified that is the "original version".

I agree. It should have been a single! And what a single!
One of that chorus that "heard once, remembered forever". Smile

There's also some extra backing vocals in the newer version of Homegrown from FPS.

I wasn't sure if they'd just used the old version with a new first verse, or whether its a re-record altogether for FPS? I've only ever heard the original version of Homegrown on vinyl which to me makes the main vocal song slightly different.

Anyways, its a great song! Always reminds me off when I moved to Manchester..."No ones gonna say Banana-fish for me cos all at home where they stayed!"

Alessandro - have you got the Easy Way CD? That's got my favourite 'different version' of a Dodgy song on it - "Smeasy Way" - it's a really cool little track!

Chris.

Yes, I have it. It's a very good one.
The b-side (or AA Side) SEEMS LIKE A BAD DAY is one of my favourites.

The very last (official released) thing I still miss
is the cover of RAINY DAY WOMAN 12 & 35.
That's because I still haven't found the DODGY ALBUM SINGLE BOX.
...but it's just a matter of time. Very Happy

It ends with a long jamming coda that forms a medley with HOMEGROWN. Wow!

The ghost of this coda pops up on Animal (track 8 ) from the album: Risen - Hey Gravity!

So... does that mean you guys have the 12" Vision promo from 2000, as found on the doscography on the dodgyology site. Cos I have, but I never found anyone else with it before. That version of Vison is totally different from the album version - I gues it might be the version that was available to download from Mudhut for free but I never did that so I can't tell...

Are people willing to upload bsides etc that people don't havem or are rare? There are a few tracks mentioned here that I need. I'd be willing to upload some rare stuff too.

Check out the download thread at forums.blur.co.uk - they have a fantastic download thread where people are more than willing to help out so long as it's not people asking for album tracks. We should od the same.

Hi, I'm Jeff by the way - I'm, a really long time Dodgy fan, just haven't been on this forum much. Hope we can be friends.
