Obviously being Intelligent beasts we think we might have the blueprint of how to get Music Distributed, Recorded and relavent in these ever changing times but it would be nice to hear what you think......

What do you think Fans require from a band in 2009?

Does a Band need a Record Label?

Is selling Music necessary for a band to survive?

I don't think a band needs a record label. But, having said that, I'm anti-mp3, so I do think a band should release songs on CDs - they're better quality for one, and isn't it nice to have something you can hold?

I guess releasing CDs can be expensive and a risk without a record label's backing, so there it becomes a bit trickier.

I say I'm anti-mp3, but I do mp3 all my CDs and stick them on my iPod and I also listen to them on my PC sometimes, but I do much prefer to lay back and listen to CDs on my hi-fi.

I'm also not keen on the idea of bands just releasing singles (Ash for one have gone this way, I've heard others seem to be considering it). It is much, much more rewarding to lay back and have a whole album wash over you than it is to stick one song into a mismatch list.

Well, that's what I think anyway... afro

So, you intelligent beasts, care to share what your blueprint is? (Please don't say mp3s... Sad )

On this exact subject, I set up a website with my brother - it's called www.cherryekko.com and it offers free profiles for bands to upload an albums worth of tracks, and choose whether they allow downloads. So far, so myspace. But we also have a vsystem whereby bands can sell EPs of demos through our shop - we manufacture the cool little records, and if they sell enough they've earned enough to record an album.

It's early days, but I'd value your support through a few sign ups - the least you get is some free music. Also, if you look i the about us section, you'll see our very of Dodgy were a major influence on the whole cherryekko.com system

Enjoy!www.cherryekko.com

Oh, and I'm at www.cherryekko.com/jeff
